The Allan P Kirby Center

The APKC is an organization that is dedicated to teaching the principles of free enterprise and entrepreneurship by helping internal and external clients develop their small business ideas. As the lead Digital Design and Media Arts scholar I had the opportunity to lead projects with a number of clients of both student businesses and community clients. The APKC allowed me to foster and develop my range of skillsets to make a real-world impact on these small businesses.

The Challenge

During my time working with the center, I discovered that starting and growing a business is no easy feat as I got the opportunity to work along with many small businesses from the community. Each client cames with their own unique set of challenges, from branding and marketing to website design and maintenance, and even clothing design. The APKC gave me the chance to really work with these businesses and find the solutions that helped push their business utelizing my creative skills that I have as well as develop new ones.

The Solution

Collaborating with these small businesses and student entrepreneurs to fulfill their design needs I utilized my expertise in WordPress, Wix, and Adobe Creative Suite (with a focus on Illustrator and InDesign), to help them reach their goals and further their businesses.

All Belgium

All Belgium is one of the many clients I worked with through the APKCFEE. All Belgium is student started waffle food truck that had already had a brand created from a previous scholar. With that being said All Belgium still had a large amount of design needs as they grew. I was able to work on many assets for them and really develop the look and feel of the brand to fit them and their needs. Some of the project that I had the opportunity work on with them was their current website, their menu, a banner, waffle trays, and punch cards.

Brighter Journeys

Brighter Journeys is a non-profit that raises funds to help individuals with complex medical or behavioral conditions get the equipment that they need. With this project I created the assets for their 7th annual fundraiser from pamphlets, signs, invites, and web updates.
